Display Energy Certificates (DECs)

By October 2008 all public buildings over 1000 sq m occupied by local authorities or organizations providing a public service are required to display an energy certificate which gives an operational rating based on energy usage of the building.

These certificates have to be renewed each year and will be accompanied by an Advisory Report which lasts for 7 years.
